Possible changes to Bus Services 100 and 747

Leicestershire County Council has issued tenders for its contracted bus services. This has the potential to affect several routes including route 747 from Leicester to Uppingham and route 100 Syston to Melton. If you use these bus services, please see the attached document and contact the County council with your concerns. The current options that LCC are looking at are listed below.

Centrebus Service 747 Leicester – Uppingham

Three options for this service:

• Option 1 reduces frequency from 11 journeys to 6, making commuting to Leicester impossible.

• Option 2 limits the service to operate between Leicester and Houghton, with only a school journey to Uppingham, all other journeys beyond Houghton withdrawn. Billesdon, Belton, Skeffington, Tugby, East Norton, and Uppingham effectively lose regular bus services.

• Option 3 is similar to Option 2 but no school journey.

Service 100 Syston – Melton

To become an Oakham to Melton service. Beeby, South Croxton, Barsby, and Ashby Folville would all lose a bus service.
